Citrus Countryside - a recount of Weddings in Woodinville from Perfectly Posh Events

~Holly Patton, Perfectly Posh Events, Weddings in Woodinville 2015 Guest Planner for The Loft at Woodinville Whiskey Company~

"The inspiration behind our “Citrus Countryside” theme was relaxing in the countryside on a lazy sunny afternoon while sipping a glass of champagne.  Since Woodinville is the wine country of the Pacific Northwest, I wanted to focus on other wine country’s in Italy, France and Napa because they are relaxed but still have an air of sophistication to them.  Incorporating citrus elements and colors into our theme really helped to create a cheerful ambiance that brightened the space and made it feel like it was summer in January!

Butter & Bloom brought our theme to life with her gorgeous flowers that really popped on the dark wood tables from Seattle Farm Tables.  One of my favorite design details were the mini lemons, limes and oranges that she placed in the brass candle sticks which added a touch of citrus without being too overdone, they were simply cute and adorable! Our welcome table felt like spring time at the farmer’s market with her potted daffodils paired with crates from Vintage Ambiance that I filled with citrus fruit.  And her citrus and greenery chandelier hanging in the tent?  Absolutely stunning!!!

The paper goods and details that Rosie with Song Bird Paperie created were full of so much joy and definitely helped to set the cheerful tone for our space.  Everything she created tied in nicely with the orange napkins from BBJ Linens and the place settings from ABC Cort.  From the adorable lemon tags on the citrus marmalade favors, to the wrapped oranges used as place cards, to the brightly colored programs and menus that reminded me of citrus flavored popsicles, and the fun banners throughout the space – I loved how everything she created added a fun pop of color and whimsy!

You can’t have a theme inspired by the French countryside without a nod to French desserts! The SweetSide created macaron towers that were not only striking as centerpieces on our display table but they were super delicious as well!

I hope you enjoyed our Citrus Countryside at Woodinville Whiskey’s Barrel Loft as much as we enjoyed creating it!!!"

Gold & Glamorous - a recount of Weddings in Woodinville from Event Success

~ Jacky Grotle of Event Success; DeLille Cellars Weddings in Woodinville 2015 Planner and guest blog post ~

"Gold, Glamorous and filled with sunshine!

My team and I created a stunning design "Gold and Glamorous" that took inspiration form The Hall of Mirrors at Versailles while incorporating modern touches that were well suited for the Chateau.  The day was gold filled with the addition of unexpected sunshine.  People were greeted by our models in Princess Bride Couture gowns and then able to enjoy DeLille Cellars and the grounds while enjoying D2 or Chaleaur Estate wines and tasting on lobster rolls, sweet potato crab cakes and poached pear crustini from Herban Feast.  The DeLille Cellars table is able to be extended an seat up to 45 guests. It was featured using half the size and dressed it up with gorgeous linens from BBJ, exquisite floral from Flora Nova, table settings from AA Party and little extras like favors and napkin rings from weddingstar.com.  The collaboration was classic and stunning.  Guests also enjoyed photobooth and the signature cake flavor (using Elderflower mousse using St. Germain liquor and passion fruit mousse) from Cake Noir.  It was an Event Success!"

Weddings in Woodinville-a multi-venue party: an analysis of the show from a guy's POV

Weddings in WoodinvilleLet’s be honest, to a newly engaged guy, few things sound more excruciating than an all-day wedding show. The idea of being surrounded by stressed-out bride-zillas and MOBs in an endless sea of vendor booths at some gigantic convention center is enough to strike fear into the hearts of even the bravest groom-to-be.

Luckily for me, Weddings in Woodinville was nothing like that! It was nothing but a multi-venue party! There was delicious food, exquisite wine, live music and luxury transportation. Even if I wasn’t getting married, it would be a fun day to spend a Sunday (especially when there’s no football game!). And the best part was, everything was geared towards helping us plan the biggest party of our lives.

My fiancé and I have only been engaged a few weeks, so we’re new to this whole wedding thing. It’s hard to know where to begin. There’s invitations, venue, decorations, catering, music, photographer… It seems like the list goes on and on. But Weddings in Woodinville was a way to see everything in action. We met professionals from each aspect of wedding planning in their true element, at a real wedding! OK, it wasn’t a real wedding, but each venue felt like it! Every exhibitor we met was friendly, helpful and relaxed. There was no pressure to make decisions or sign contracts. The focus of the whole day was on fun. It seemed like the exhibitors were enjoying themselves as much as the participants were.

We also loved the prevalence of young entrepreneurs represented among the vendors. For the most part, the folks we met at Weddings in Woodinville weren’t just lowly employees of some big corporate events company. They were owners, often sole proprietors of small businesses. It was invigorating to see young people passionate about their business and we had fun brainstorming ideas for our wedding with them.

Of the many great ideas we came away with, my favorites were: Weddings in Woodinville

1) Drinks at the door – JM Cellars handed everyone a tasting glass of wine as we walked in. What a great way to welcome guests and set the tone of your event!

2) Alternative Desserts – Who needs a wedding cake? We loved the finger-food desserts, especially the cheesecake and chocolates from Divine Confections. And if you’re looking for cake, try the gluten free magic of Stone Layne Baked Specialties.

3) Hand-Drawn Venue Map - Married with Michelle had a lovely and whimsical hand-drawn illustration directing guests to the various attractions at Willows Lodge. It was playful and effective!

4) Potted Plant Centerpieces  - The northwest feel of living ferns and native plants donning the tables at JM Winery blew our minds. They were beautiful and simple. We’re definitely using that in our wedding. Great idea MG Davis Events!

Now I’m trying to figure out how to postpone my wedding for a year or two, so I can go back next year for more tasty appetizers and wine. Or… maybe I can just convince several of my friends to get married next year, so I can take them!

Lightning Booth of Love at Weddings in Woodinville

During this years tour, The Lightning Booth, featured at Willows Lodge, held a drawing to issue a free Photo Booth to one lucky WiW attendee.  Congratulations to the winner Ashley Mitchell and her fiancé Sam!

Kip, owner of TLB interviewed the winning couple and shared their story with us:

K: When and where are you getting married?
A: We are getting married on October 23 of this year at the beautiful Arctic Club Hotel in downtown Seattle in the wondrous Northern Lights Dome Room.

K: What is the syle of your wedding at the Arctic Club and some of the design elements you’re thinking (color palate, flowers, decor, etc.)?
A: Our theme is "Fall Fairytale" - A modern vintage look with some whimsical details. Our colors are light pink, gold and ivory. Our flowers will be timeless and romantic with a mix of tall and low centerpieces. We will be incorporating metallic pumpkins for that touch of whimsy and lots of candlelight to make the room glow. It wasn't until after we booked the Arctic Club and had our date that we chose our theme and colors, we let the venue and date guide us which has made things come together much easier. The dome room in the Arctic Club also speaks for itself so we have been careful to make choices that compliment the space rather than compete with it.

K: Any other vendors you’re now working with from your tour of Weddings in Woodinville?Weddings in Woodinville
A: We have not booked anyone yet, but are currently talking to a few (florists, furniture rental, etc.). Most if not all of what we have left to book, rent, etc. will probably come from Weddings in Woodinville, it has made finding great vendors so much easier!

K: Give me a quick bios and the basic love story between you and your fiancé.
A: Sam and I met a little over four years ago at a mutual friend's birthday party in Ballard. It was a holiday bar crawl that night and people were dressed up as Santa, we both remember talking and being surrounded by Santas. Sam is an Aerospace Engineer and I am an Interior Designer. We both share a love for great food and wine, spending time where we live in Ballard and planning our next adventure (right now that's our wedding).

Thank you The Lightning Booth for helping our guests capture some fun memories from the tour, for giving away this amazing prize and sharing this fun couple with us!  We can’t wait to see the photos from Ashley and Sam’s wedding in October and wish them the best in their planning and future together!
