Vendor Highlight: PJ Hummel of PJ Hummel & Company

Photo used with permissionWhat is your name and company?
My Name is PJ Hummel and my business is PJ Hummel & Company

What inspired you to start your business?
I spent the first fifteen years of my career doing window display and visual merchandising for stores and tradeshows. In 1995, a friend asked me to help on a fundraiser for the local zoo. During that event someone showed me a copy of Special Event Magazine, where I learned there was a whole world of people creating wild & wacky events for a living. It seemed like the very best job in the world, so the event design division PJ Hummel & Company was born.

What sets you apart from other vendors in your field?
What sets PJ Hummel & Company apart from other vendors in our field is our longevity, expertise, and experience. We have had many opportunities to work on some really big projects in some very unusual locations.

What's your style?
Our company is known for our elegance and total room transformations with the use of fabrics and lighting.

What is the main thing that makes you unique?
We are a hybrid of designer and supplier, and have a strong passion for new ideas. We call ourselves “the ultimate event resource” because we do it all. We own our own inventory of soft seating, 20’ high drapes, centerpieces, and decorative galore.

What is your greatest strength?
Our team. We are a group of risk taking entrepreneurial creatives, artists, business majors, graphic & industrial designers, and trained carpenters. Our trendsetting passionate team is capable of almost anything in house.

What are you most proud of?
We are proud to still be in business, it’s been a long bumpy few years for small businesses. A few of our competitors didn’t make it through. We’re proud that we love what we do, and make things beautiful ever day.

PJ Hummel was featured at The Loft at Russell's.

Evening Passion at DeLille Cellars with Jacky Grotle of Event Success

Nestled along a hillside, DeLille Cellars is located on a private ten-acre estate that overlooks the Sammamish Valley in Woodinville’s wine country. The Chateau offers an atmosphere of rural French countryside elegance that event planner, Jacky Grotle of Event Success, embraced during Weddings in Woodinville with her use of traditional French wedding ceremony colors like royal blues, purples, reds and rich, romantic elements, such as including a string quartet playing classic French music.

Here are a few highlights taken by April Greer Studio of the event:

Une belle maison!  A beautiful house!  Lux seating by Aria Style adds to the elegance and richness of a ceremony by the fire.

Deep with texture and a whole lot of sexiness, Event Success and Aria Style create a tablescape that embraces the French feel for decadence, beauty and glamour!

Complete with chandeliers hung from tenting by AA Party Rentals and twinkling lights, guests could enjoy the lush evergreen landscape surrounding DeLille Cellars and a little "Evening Passion".

Cupcake favors by Creme de la Creme feature fleur-de-lis which signify perfection, light, and life, a perfect symbol for the union of a new life together.  Name cards by BumblebDesigns are tucked into wine corks to compliment the winery wedding.

Northwest Elegance and Dramatic Glistening Winter Decor at Russell's Barn by Stephanie Wilson of Every Last Detail

Russell's Barn truly highlighted the natural setting of their location and then exploded with Glam-tastic fantasy upstairs in The Loft!  Downstairs Stepanie Wilson of Every Last Detail, created an intimate and elegant northwest escape highlighting the rustic and cozy atmosphere of Russell's exposed wood beams. Different tones of ivory, bronze and plum served as the perfect palette for the Barn's inviting feel.

The Loft upstairs, with its dramatic and spacious architecture, beautifully accommodated the fantastic décor.  PJ Hummel and Co. created an unforgettable glistening winter fantasy, complete with glittering bare branch trees brilliantly lit to increase the overall "wow" factor.

Here are a few highlights taken by Stacey Denise Photography of the event:

Anna's Flowers helped create the elegant Northwest atmosphere shown at this beautifully set table.

A stunning shot of Russell's Loft.  The larger-than-life snowflakes fell from the arched rafters above and white leather curved chairs that just beckoned you to sit back and take in the fantastical glam-winter atmosphere.

Taking guests breath away will happen twice with PJ Hummel & Company's decor for the walk down the isle; once from the beautiful bride and again from candle-lit & crystal glow of the altar.

The four tier cake by The Cakewalk Shop was a centerpiece in itself, surrounded by rose petals, sparking, mirrored candelabras and illuminated by candlelight.

Abracadabra wine by Brian Carter Cellars completed the magical theme of the day.
